What is your favourite beach or place in Jersey & why?
I love St Brelades Bay for the family aspect and cleanliness in the summer. It offers so much in beach sports and facilities but my dog’s absolute favourite is Ouaisne Bay! I love it too because she is so happy there.
Where is your favourite place to stay in Jersey or where would you like to stay if you had the opportunity?
I had the opportunity to stay at the Greenhills Hotel, St Peters, for my partners birthday and it was a beautiful boutique hotel. The rooms were quirky and characterful. I would love to stay there again and spend a bit more time enjoying the facilities.
What event in the Jersey calendar do you frequent or do you have a particular favourite entertainment venue?
I adore Liberation Day the most- I feel so patriotic and over-whelmed by the courage of my fellow islanders in that restricted time. The second world war is my favourite historical period because we were taught so much about it in Jersey growing up. When I studied in the UK for my G.C.S.E’s, I breezed through that section and even taught my teachers something!
For entertainment, other than my place Ruby’s of course, I think the Savoy Hotels Jazz Nights are the most relaxing. Listening to musicians play and show off their talent is an absolute joy any time of the day.
Is there a favourite place that you go for either a sporting or leisure activity?
My family and I like to walk our dog, Smudge, so we tend to do a lot of the island and beach walks. We still have yet to complete the Corbiere one as there is always something to rush back for. I love the kind of days where you just follow tracks without really knowing where you’ll end up, but for me if there Is a log fire burning and a glass at the other end, I could walk for miles….I have walked many a time from St Helier to St Aubin and back again losing track of time as the views are incredible of the ocean.
Where is your favourite place to dine and why?
I really love The Old Station Café in St Lawrence on the avenue as their thai food is wonderful. I also love the food at Chordz café in St Helier as the wraps are so succulent and tasty. I haven’t had the chance to try any of the fine dining restaurants as yet as when I have time off, I tend to go to friends houses and they cook for me!!
Do you have a favourite venue where you like to go and socialise?
I think the Square is nice and relaxing and I like how it has been designed with the décor and use of space.
Is there a place where you just like to go to relax and chill out?
If I relax its usually at the cinema with my family, I love to get lost in a great movie, eating ice-cream and not even thinking about my phone, emails or social media.
Can you give 3 words which describe the best things about Jersey for you?
