The Jersey Brain Tumour Charity

The Jersey Brain Tumour Charity was formed to support Jersey residents in meeting the challenges that a brain tumour diagnosis can bring. Our aim is to ensure that any Islander affected by a brain tumour diagnosis whether directly or indirectly, is well supported and able to make informed decisions and never feels alone on their journey. To date we have supported over 400 people.

There are 130 different types of brain tumour and until we were established in 2011, there were no local organisations specifically dedicated to support patients, clients and families affected by them.

Our services are highly tailored to the needs of our clients to ensure we provide high quality and consistent support during times of uncertainty which include a 24/7 free phoneline, specialist face-to-face emotional support. We also hold two monthly “Brainy Buddies” support group meetings, one is held at St Paul’s Centre and is designed to help people share experiences and provide peer support for patients, families and friends. The other is a less formal meeting which takes place at a local café and is for our clients to support each other.
