There’s just one dream for the women of Ballygar to get a taste of freedom in 1967: to win a pilgrimage to the sacred French town of Lourdes. However, for close friends Lily (Maggie Smith in her final film role), Eileen (Kathy Bates) and Dolly (Agnes O’Casey) their trip means more than just the chance to escape their everyday lives.
