All levels of experience welcome—just bring along your sense of humour and an eagerness to play!
Whether you’re a seasoned performer or a complete beginner, this introduction to clowning will give you a crash-course in some of the basics of physical comedy, improvisation, and the joyful art of making people laugh. Through games, exercises, and group work, we’ll explore some of the core principles of clowning: embracing vulnerability, finding humor in everyday moments, and discovering the freedom that comes with being silly. Get ready to laugh, take risks, and connect with others in a fun, supportive environment.
Optional (but strongly encouraged): Any colourful and/or fabulous headwear, hats or accessories that you have lying around at home!
The workshop is led by Henry Lambert and Christina Holmbek, who work together as clown double-act extraordinaire, Holy Smokes. The workshop is part of their Jersey residency during which they continue to develop HÔLY-PÔLY, their brand new theatre show, supported by a Development Grant from ArtHouse Jersey.
Saturday 18 January, 10am to 1pm at ArtHouse Jersey’s HQ at Greve de Lecq Barracks.
Tickets cost £10.
Suitable for age 14+.
