Or be even kinder by bringing a friend to share a relaxing pause from busyness. The drop-in day provides an opportunity for people to come together and enjoy each other’s company during the holiday season. There will be plenty of seasonal warmth, music and refreshments.”

🎄🎄🎄 CONSIDER YOURSELF! 🎄🎄🎄
*CONSIDER YOURSELF* Follows from successful drop-in days held in Christmas Week 2022 and 2023 at St Brelade’s Church Hall and builds on that experience by this year by offering companionship in a convivial atmosphere, in particular seeking to alleviate loneliness and stress at a time when all around there is the seasonal message of ‘It’s a time to be jolly’.
Founded by Brian Clarke, the creator of the Kindness Festival, the first Drop-In day was in 2022 during Christmas week to offer a time to De-Stress. The idea emerged from the ‘open to all’ monthly Tea & Chat afternoon that has now been running for a couple of years as a welcoming drop-in at 3pm on the first Wednesday each month using the Brelade’s Church Hall.
Experience from the 2022 de-stress day identified that the need in Christmas Week was less about stress busting and more enjoying fellowship, hence the day this year the focus is ‘Consider Yourself’. In other words, be kind to yourself. And in 2023 we amended the layout in the Hall to give café style seating at small tables that can facilitate talking and listening. This year we are repeating the pattern and building on the open welcome to all. There will be people there specifically to welcome and to listen, And we anticipate a festive, feel-good atmosphere.
