Jersey Heritage Members’ Event
Jersey Heritage (JH) Members are invited to join us after hours at La Hougue Bie, to celebrate La Saint Jean (St John’s Day), the traditional Midsummer celebration in Jersey.
This exclusive event for JH Members offers a unique opportunity to experience the magic of La Hougue Bie in the changing light of the day. Enjoy tasting the traditional Jersey delicacy milk-é-pan’tch, try your hand at bachîn ringing with Geraint Jennings, and join in the fun of our pots-&-pans banging activity, to scare away evil spirits to ensure a bountiful harvest. The Neolithic longhouse team will be onsite to light the fire and show you ancient skills, providing a glimpse into the lives of our ancestors during Midsummer.
As the sun sets, Verity Le Brun will play beautiful 18th-century music on the fiddle in the chapel, creating a nostalgic atmosphere. You’re welcome to bring a picnic, as the café onsite will be closed. Don’t miss this special evening, to access La Hougue Bie at dusk and connect with fellow Jersey Heritage Members.
Please note: Parking is limited at La Hougue Bie and we encourage Members to car share, take the bus or cycle to the event. Parking in the field is at your own risk, so please take care walking to and from your vehicle.
