At the other end are the foundations of an abandoned harbour wall. Sitting up on the cliffs is an Iron age hill-fort and more modern defences including a German Bunker and Napoleonic barracks are within walking distance. The beach is very accessible and affords plenty of Free parking as well as a regular bus route. Due to tidal conditions there are lifeguards operating on this beach
