I arrived in Jersey at the age of 16 from Australia to visit my grandparents, having lived in Sydney for 6 years and Montreal, Canada for three years prior to that. My father soon started working for a local insurance company, we rented a beautiful Jersey granite farmhouse in St Mary and I was sent back to school to do my A Levels. It was the summer of 1972 and Jersey beaches were pretty much like those in Sydney so I soon fell in love with the Island…. which is probably why I never got beyond A Level Art as I did not want to leave at that stage to continue my education.
I am self-taught/ motivated and have simply kept painting through the years, with a couple of exhibitions in Horsham where I lived for many years and various commissions mostly through my varied jobs and consequent connections.
I returned to Jersey in 2004 and am now settled and living in Grouville with spectacular views across the bay to mainland France, Seymour Tower and Mont Orgueil Castle, where I work as a voluntary Visitor Host.
Who needs a drone!
I have designed two tea towels for Jersey Heritage, one of the castle and the other of Bergerac’s car to compliment the 1980’s Exhibition at Jersey Museum. Both are for sale at their respective sites
I also have three granddaughters for whom I am always drawing and painting pictures, along with designing their birthday and Christmas cards.
